Microsoft Teams Integration
Give River can connect to your Microsoft Teams environment to bring recognition activity into your team's collaboration tools. The integration is configured through the Admin Settings panel, and installed as an app inside Microsoft Teams itself.
Audience: Admins only
What the Integration Does
Connecting Microsoft Teams allows Give River to bridge employee recognition with your existing Teams workspace, enabling activity to flow between platforms.
Setting Up the MS Teams Connection
Unlike most integrations, this one works in the opposite direction from what you might expect: Give River generates credentials for you, which you then paste into Microsoft Teams — you don't need anything from Azure or the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Sign in to Give River as an admin.
Navigate to Settings → Integrations.
Under the Communications group, click Connect on the Microsoft Workspace card.
Copy the Club ID (it has its own Copy button).
Under Integration key, click Create a key to paste. Your key appears once, in its own window: click Copy, keep it somewhere safe until step 7, then close the window. (Give River shows a key only once. If you lose it, create a new one; your connected Slack and Teams update automatically.)
Click Install in Microsoft Teams. This opens Microsoft Teams so you can install the Give River app to your workspace.
When prompted inside Microsoft Teams, paste the Club ID and the integration key you copied.
About the integration key
Microsoft Teams and Slack connect to Give River with your team's integration key. It is separate from your invite link, so sharing an invite link never gives anyone access to your Teams or Slack connection.
You'll find the key's status on Settings → Integrations, in the Integration key card: when it was created, how many Slack and Teams workspaces use it, and whether your invite link's token was still used recently. Rotate key replaces it: the old key stops working right away, and your connected Slack and Teams get the new one automatically. Only Admins and the Workspace Owner can see or rotate the key.
After Connecting
Once the integration is active, recognition activity from Give River can surface in your connected Teams environment. Check your Settings → Integrations page to confirm the connection status.
Disconnecting MS Teams
To remove the integration, uninstall the Give River app from Microsoft Teams, and disconnect it from Settings → Integrations on the Give River side.
