River Run: Completion Question (Stream Feedback)
After you mark a Stream as complete, Give River may present a short Completion Question — a feedback prompt tied specifically to that lesson. This is separate from quiz-type Streams. It appears as a pop-up dialog immediately after the Stream is recorded as complete, before you move on.
What Is a Completion Question?
After you mark a Stream as complete, Give River may present a short Completion Question — a feedback prompt tied specifically to that lesson. This is separate from quiz-type Streams. It appears as a pop-up dialog immediately after the Stream is recorded as complete, before you move on.
Completion questions are optional per Stream. If the admin has not turned one on for a particular Stream, you move straight to the drops/celebration screen.
When It Appears
The completion question dialog triggers automatically when all of the following are true:
- You tap Done or Share to complete a Stream.
- The Stream is not a quiz.
- The Stream has one or more completion questions.
- The admin has turned on the completion question for that Stream.
Question Types
Completion questions support four formats:
| Type | How to answer |
|---|---|
| Open-ended / Description | Type a free-text response in the text field |
| Single choice | Tap one option from a radio list |
| Multiple choice | Tap all options that apply using checkboxes |
| Scale | Drag a slider between the minimum and maximum values (labels shown at each end) |
How to Answer a Completion Question
- After completing a Stream, the Feedback Time dialog appears automatically.
- The current question number and total count are shown at the top (e.g., "Question 1/2").
- Answer the question using the appropriate input (text, radio, checkbox, or slider).
- Tap Next to move to the next question. You must provide an answer before proceeding — an error message appears if you try to skip.
- On the last question, tap Submit instead of Next. Your responses are sent to Give River.
- To go back and change a previous answer, tap Previous.
Notes
- All questions are required. You cannot submit without answering each one.
- Once submitted, answers are recorded against your account and the specific Stream and River Run. You cannot resubmit.
- After submitting, the Drops earned dialog (or run completion celebration) appears as normal.
- Completion questions have no right or wrong answers. Your answers are feedback for your admins.
Adding a Completion Question (Admins)
Admins add completion questions to a Stream while building or editing a River Run.
- In Admin view, go to Engage › River Runs and create a run, or tap Edit on an existing one.
- Open the Lessons tab. To start a new Stream, tap Add Lesson (the plus button) on a section. To change an existing Stream, tap Edit Lesson (the pencil) on it.
- Scroll down to Completion question and turn on Ask members a question when they complete this stream.
- Tap Add Question. Type the Question Text, choose a Question Type, and fill in what that type needs:
- Single Choice or Multiple Choice: enter at least two options. Tap Add Option for more.
- Open Ended: nothing else to fill in. Members type their own answer.
- Scale: pick 1-3, 1-5 or 1-10, and optionally label the low and high ends.
- Tap Add Question. The question appears in the list under the switch.
- Add more questions the same way. Use the up and down arrows to change their order, the pencil to change a question, and the trash can to remove one.
- Tap Add Lesson (or Update Lesson when editing) to save the Stream. The questions are saved with it.
Good to know:
- Quiz Streams don't show the Completion question section. A quiz's own questions are the quiz.
- Completion questions have no correct answer to mark. Members answer every question before they can submit.
- Turning the switch off stops the pop-up. The questions stay with the Stream, so you can turn it back on later.
- Changing a question's wording keeps the answers members already gave.
